Make sure to only install apps from official sources to avoid issues.

What Is an Overlay, and How Do I Enable It?

An overlay is a layer of information or tools that appears on top of your game without affecting the game itself.
You can toggle overlays on or off whenever you like.

To make sure Overwolf’s overlay is ready for your game:

  1. Open Overwolf Settings

  2. Go to Overlay & Hotkeys

  3. Make sure your game appears in the list

  4. Ensure its overlay is enabled

If everything looks correct but the overlay still isn’t showing, visit our Overlay Troubleshooting guide.

Capture Settings

To start recording your gameplay, download a capturing app from the Appstore.
Once an app with recording or screen capture features is installed, you’ll gain access to Overwolf’s Capture settings.

The default capture settings are:

  • 720p resolution

  • 30 FPS

To adjust resolution, FPS, encoder, or other recording options:

  1. Open Overwolf Settings

  2. Click the Capture tab

If you experience issues while recording, check out our Common Capture Issues guide.

Note: Some apps with recording features include their own in-app capture settings, which override the global defaults.
