On some versions of Windows, Windows Media Player is not enabled by default. When this happens, you may experience issues such as:
A black screen when trying to play videos in-game with the Replay HUD app
Errors in the Game Capture media player, including:
"You need to install Windows Media Player 10 or above to view videos using Overwolf"
The good news is that Windows Media Player may simply be disabled, and you can easily enable it by following the steps below.
How to Enable Windows Media Player
Open the Start menu.
Go to the Control Panel.
Open Programs and Features.
Click Turn Windows features on or off (on the left side).
Find Media Features and expand it.
Check the box next to Windows Media Player.
Click OK.
Restart your PC.
Try recording or playing a video again.
Once Windows Media Player is enabled, video playback in Overwolf apps should function normally.
