Overwolf’s Game Capture app makes it easy to record both in-game and desktop footage with high-quality results.
By default, the recorder captures all Overwolf windows except the video recorder window itself and the recording indicator.
If you want more control over what Overwolf windows appear in your videos, you can customize the capture behavior with a few simple options.
Take me to...
Window Capture Options
All windows
Captures every Overwolf window that appears on top of your game.
All, except the video recorder (default)
Captures all Overwolf windows except:
The Game Capture window
The recording indicator
Don’t capture any window
Captures only the game.
No Overwolf windows will appear in the final recording.
Note: When using desktop capture, everything visible on your desktop is recorded—including all Overwolf windows.
OpenGL Compatibility
Some games that use OpenGL do not support the “All, except the video recorder” option.
If you select it, the recorder will capture all Overwolf windows anyway.
To avoid this:
Switch the game to DirectX (if the option exists), or
Use either All windows or Don’t capture any window
If you need help choosing the best recording settings, please check out the Recommended Recording Settings.
