If you’re experiencing random Overwolf crashes with the error message “No store settings file,” try the following solutions:
1. .NET Framework 4.8 Not Installed Properly / Corrupted .NET Framework
Overwolf and the Appstore rely on .NET Framework 4.8.
If this component is missing or corrupted, Overwolf may crash.
First, try repairing your .NET installation using Microsoft’s .NET repair tool.
If the tool cannot fix the issue, reset the .NET Framework by following the steps in this guide.
2. Reinstall Overwolf (Clean Reinstall)
Before trying the steps below, we strongly recommend contacting our Support team as a clean installation may not be necessary to fix the issue:
Contact Overwolf Support
1. Uninstall Overwolf
Press Start.
Open the Control Panel.
Go to Programs and Features.
Locate Overwolf and select Uninstall.
After the uninstall completes:
Navigate to
C:\Program Files (x86).If an Overwolf folder still exists, delete it.
2. Remove Local App Data
Press Windows Key + R.
Type:
%localappdata%Press Enter.
Find and delete the Overwolf folder.
3. Reinstall Overwolf
Once everything is removed, download Overwolf (along with your preferred app) Here or from our website and launch it again.
