The R6 Map Stats feature is used outside of the game, whenever you take a moment to reflect upon your in-game performance. This article will show you how to make the most out of R6 Map Stats step-by-step!
In-Game
When R6 Map Stats is enabled, it will automatically pop up at the start of a Ranked match, to ask you what map you are playing.
Additionally, if you have “Track Objective Site / Spawnpoint data” enabled in the Settings menu, it will automatically pop up during every Operator Selection Phase to ask what Objective Site or Spawnpoint you selected.
You can press the hotkey (default: CTRL+M) to open a Map Stats tracking screen, where you can input the information as well, if needed. For instance, if you were alt-tabbed at the start of the match, or if you misclicked some input.
Out of Game
The usefulness of R6 Map Stats becomes apparent once you leave the game. When exiting Rainbow Six: Siege, the Analyst Panel will automatically open. Click the “Map Stats” button in the menu on the left to open the relevant section.
This panel showcases a wide variety of data tracked by R6 Map Stats, and holds valuable information that you can use to improve in Siege!
Use the menu on the left to switch between individual maps.
Map vs Map Performance
The top-most section ‘Map vs Map Performance’ shows your performance split across the different maps. If any particular map has a very low Win% compared to the others, you are underperforming on that map. Try finding some strategy-videos for that map on Youtube, or discuss it with the people you play with to figure out what could be improved.
Take note of the Win% Per Side as well. Although some maps are inherently defender-sided (e.g. Theme Park), a very big lean towards a single side, could indicate you need to investigate alternative approaches to, for instance, attack on Outback.
Map vs Average Performance
This section shows the same statistics as the Map vs Map Performance, but now focusing just on just the map you selected on the left-side menu. It is compared against your average performance across all maps. Coming soon, we will also allow comparison against the average performance of all R6 Map Stats users.
Orange vs Blue Win%
This graph shows you how often you have won as the Orange team, and how often as the Blue team. Note that the Orange team always starts on Defence, and the opposite is true for Blue. Thus if you win much more often as Orange than as Blue, this could be an indication you need to work on your attacking strategies on this map.
Attacking Site Analysis
These graphs provide information on your performance for Attack on the selected map. It’s split across the available Objective Sites for this map.
Note that this information is only available if you have enabled “Track Objective Site / Spawnpoint data” in the Settings menu!
Siege is inherently defender-sided, so any win% above 45% can be considered as good.
When trying to improve in attacking on this map, focus on the Objective Site that has a high Rounds Played, and a Win% below 45%.
Spawnpoint Analysis
This section shows some information with regards to how often you get spawnkilled as an Attacker, and how often you manage to get an ‘early pick’ as an attacker. We define any death or kills within the first 18 seconds of a round as a spawnkill/early pick.
If you get spawnkilled in more than 0.3% of rounds, consider spawning in a safer location, or specifically focus on pre-aiming common spawnkill locations (windows/doors/etc.).
Defending Site Analysis
Similar to the Attacking Site Analysis, these graphs provide information on your performance for Defence on the selected map. It’s split across the available Objective Sites for this map.
Note that this information is only available if you have enabled “Track Objective Site / Spawnpoint data” in the Settings menu!
Siege is inherently defender-sided, so any win% below 55% can be considered as poor.
When trying to improve in defending on this map, focus on the Objective Site that has a high Rounds Played, and a Win% below 55%.
Spawnpoint Analysis
This section shows some information with regards to how often you manage to successfully spawnkill an Attacker, and how often you die in the attempt. We define any death or kills within the first 18 seconds of a round as a spawnkill/spawnfail.
A “spawnfail” is when you attempt to spawnkill as a Defender but die instead.
If you spawnfail more than you spawnkill, consider stopping with attempting to spawnkill, or learn less common and/or safer spawnkill locations (pixelpeeks etc.).
Site Win% Per Operator
This section shows your performance per Site per Operator.
Note that this information is only available if you have enabled both “Track Objective Site / Spawnpoint data” and “Track Real-time Operator Data” in the Settings menu!
Possibly the most valuable section, this is also the section that requires a lot of data before becoming useful. By tracking your performance per Site and per Operator, you can find patterns and compare strategies, to find out what Operators to bring on what maps, and which strategies to run for each Objective Site.
