We have found that some laptops and PCs that have both Intel Quick Sync and AMD AMF capable graphic cards can have some video performance issues causing Overwolf to not recognize the share textures feature, which is essential.
*Note – The very first thing you can do is make sure that your graphics card's drivers are up to date.
Compatibility Mode
The compatibility mode in the Overwolf capture settings is meant to provide users with average gaming rigs a way to record their games and highlights. This mode basically forces your recorder to use a technology called 'shared memory' instead of the more advanced and graphically consuming 'shared texture'.
This option is not meant to be used on high-end rigs (strong GPU/CPU) and can cause them FPS issues and/or black screen recordings.
Configuring Switchable Graphics in Radeon™ Software Adrenalin
Choose whether to run applications on the high performance or on power saving graphics processor, or to assign the GPU based on the current power source.
- Right-click the Desktop and select 'AMD Radeon Settings' from the menu.
- Select 'System'
- Select 'Switchable Graphics'
- Select 'Browse' and go to Overwolf's installation folder > 0.XXX.X.XX (highest numbered folder) > obs > bin > 64/32bit
- Select the file called 'ow-obs.exe' and press 'Open'
- Click on the arrow next to 'Overwolf.exe' and select 'High Performance'
- Repeat step 6 for 'ow-obs.exe'
